Callum McPhail, professionally known as ChasM, is a DJ and producer from the Highlands of Scotland. He began pursuing a career in music when he was in secondary school, where he would make small mixtapes for him and his friends. Since then, he has begun producing his own music, mixing as a resident DJ at his local club, and has even began offering DJ services for weddings, parties and other private functions.
CHASM'S RESIDENTIAL JOURNEY
ChasM began DJing in his bedroom, learning about his new found passion using online videos on YouTube. Through this, he developed a keen ear for music, learning how to beatmatch and mix by key. He also began creating his own mashups, and learning how music is made, leading to a whole new world of not only mixing music, but writting it too. ChasM began studying sound production in 2020, and even though he no longer goes to college, he is still keen to learn new things about the world of music.
WHAT THE FUTURE HOLDS
For ChasM, the future is still very unclear. At the moment, he balances his full time job with his sports coaching job, hobbies in music, and his residential DJ career. He hopes one day he'll be able to look back at a time where a full time career as a DJ and music producer was only a dream.
